Our Vision
Manchester Reform Synagogue, founded in 1857, is a beacon of progressive Jewish life in the heart of our city.
- We are together – b’yachad. We stand as one inclusive family on life’s journey.
- We are caring – tikkun olam. We are responsive to the needs of others in our community, in our city, in our country, in Israel, and beyond, and we strive to care for our planet.
- We are spiritual – ruach. Through Torah we seek meaning and transformation. We have a rich history of blending tradition with innovation in our religious life and practice.
- We are leading – derech. We find wisdom and strength in our history and our commitment to help shape an ever-evolving vision of Reform Judaism in our lives and our world.
As a community, we care deeply about the wellbeing of everyone. Through our values and community's vision, our diverse community welcomes Jews of all backgrounds; people of all ages, ethnicities, nationalities, genders and abilities; interfaith families; and people who are partnered, single, straight, gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender.
